The Swiss House of de Grisogono is relatively young — it is only 23. But this does not prevent the brand from being among the top ten most famous jewelry companies in the world. Its founder and creative director, Fawaz Gruosi, has created a fashion for black diamonds, increasing their cost sixteen-fold. He began to use icy diamonds and stingray skin in his design, and invented the browny brown gold. This man plays with volumes and colors, loves shocking, and combines super rare stones with semiprecious ones. Gruosi likes to surprise his friends, clients and fans, and in this art he has no equal!
At the last La Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris, de Grisogono introduced The Constellation — the most expensive rough diamond in the world, weighing in at 813 cts. It was found in November 2015 in Botswana, and sold for a record $63 million. Experts claim that after the mineral is cut in the middle of next year, Gruosi will become the owner of the largest certified flawless diamond in the world, weighing at 404 carats.
The new collection of de Grisogono
Apart from The Constellation, the brand booth’s visitors were introduced to a great variety of unique jewelry worth more than one million dollars each. Among them were Pure Desire necklaces with a 45.93 cts D VS1 pear-cut diamond. Another example is the ring from the Folies collection, with 47 briolette-cut rubies weighing 44.2 cts in total, and a 14.18 cts diamond. Unsurprisingly, it has already been sold to a private collector.
